Fifteen Minutes Of Fame
1. FIFTEEN MINUTES OF FAME
(Steve Vozzolo)
There's something about the way you look at me
Something I just can't explain
Everyday now seems brand new
One day sunshine one day rain
Everything changed Everything changed Everything changed
My life will never be the same
Fifteen minutes of fame
Your decision to pursue me
Must be based on risk reward
I can hardly pay attention
I don't know why I get so bored
Everything changed Everything changed Everything changed
My life will never be the same
Fifteen minutes of fame
My life will never be the same
Fifteen minutes of fam
2.LIVE IN A WORLD WITHOUT LOVE
(Steve Vozzolo)
No one calling on the phone
No one knocking on my door
Nobody that I know
Comes around here anymore
I try to forget that I'm alone
I leave the television on
Everybody that I knew is long gone
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must survive in a world without love
It gets kind of strange out late at night
Nobody even knows my name
I guess everybody that was coming
Already came
I try not to care that I'm alone
I leave the television on
Everybody that I loved is long gone
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must survive in a world without love
There are a lot of things I remember
But I don't think about the past
I let tomorrow be tomorrow
Try to make each moment last
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must learn to live in a world without love
I must survive in a world without love
3. THE EXPLODING PLASTIC INEVITABLE
(Steve Vozzolo)
The scream of the electric violin
The thunder and lightning of the guitars
The pounding, pounding of the drums
The singer sings the songs
Colored lights swirling everywhere
Images flashing on the screens
Dancers float across the floor and improvise
Men and women do unspeakable things
The exploding plastic inevitable
Exploding in my mind
The exploding plastic inevitable
Exploding in my mind
Fade to black, fade to black
In the morning coffee and cigarettes
Thoughts of suicide
Night is falling, I am getting dressed
I'm going out tonight
The exploding plastic inevitable
Exploding in my mind
The exploding plastic inevitable
Exploding in my mind
Fade to black, fade to black
4. MISS SATURDAY NIGHT
(Steve Vozzolo)
You're out with your friends
You're feeling all right
You're looking so good
You're looking so fine under the city lights
It's Saturday night
All right Miss Saturday night
All right Miss Saturday night
Oh, it's your cell phone
Can't hear what their saying
See you later
You order a purple champagne
No sign of rain
All right Miss Saturday night
All right Miss Saturday night
Please forgive me for the way I stare
I'm intoxicated by your perfume swirling through the air
I need to talk with you but I don't think I'd dare
I need to see you again anytime anywhere
If I can just get lucky I might catch your eye
Wish upon a star under the night time sky
They say that falling in love is the ultimate high
Stranger things have happened on a Saturday night
All right Miss Saturday night
All right Miss Saturday night
5. THE BEAT THE BEAT
(Steve Vozzolo)
The beat the beat - Beatitude
Dancing on the edge of the world
The beat the beat - Beatitude
Dancing on the edge of the world
Lovers, lions and clowns
Let's send them out looking for planets
Hope they find a place called home
The heart the heart - Gratitude
Searching for a place in the sun
The heart the heart - Gratitude
Searching for a place in the sun
Lovers, lions and clowns
Let's send them out looking for virgins
Hope they find a place called home
We're going from heaven down to the sea
We're on an expedition following the light
When I asked for an answer all they said to me
Is we're going from heaven down to the sea
6. KNIVES GUNS AND THE CROSS
(Steve Vozzolo)
Knives, guns and the cross
Sometimes they tell the story of a life
Knives, guns and finally the cross
The story of a life
Hey, be careful there's a sharp blade on that knife
Wouldn't want to see you cut somebody
It was just last week a man got cut out on the street
That man nearly lost his life
Knives, guns and the cross
Sometimes they tell the story of a life
Knives, guns and finally the cross
The story of a life
Hey, be careful that gun is loaded
Wouldn't want to see you shoot somebody
It was just last week a man got shot out on the street
That man nearly lost his life
I would not say I am a religious man
I always genuflect before the cross
I say my rosary beads and I wear my crucifix
And I pray for the souls of the lost
Knives, guns and the cross
Sometimes they tell the story of a life
Knives, guns and finally the cross
The story of a life
7. THE SADDEST MAN ALIVE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I wonder what it's like to be the saddest man alive?
Is it true that a man can die from a broken heart?
I wonder what it's like to be completely without hope?
What can a man do when his world has fallen apart?
These are the events that will eventually lead to my demise
I predict that the day after I die the sun will rise
I wonder what it's like to be the last man left on earth?
Is it true that a man can die from being alone?
I wonder what it's like to walk down a city street and the only sound you hear Is the wind blowing through the caverns of glass, steel and stone?
These are the events that will eventually lead to my demise
I predict that the day after I die the sun will rise
I wonder what it's like to be the saddest man alive?
Why is everybody trying so hard to make a claim on God?
I have given this some thought I am not afraid to die
I think you're being kind by describing my behavior as just a little bit odd
These are the events that will eventually lead to my demise
I predict that the day after I die the sun will rise
8. I THINK EVERYBODY SHOULD BE A MACHINE
(Steve Vozzolo)
How do you square that circle?
How do you circle that square?
How do we learn to be ourselves
When there are cameras everywhere?
Maybe it's something about the way we are wired
We hardly work at all but we're always still tired
I get so bored staring at that screen
I think everybody should be a machine
I think everybody should be a machine
I have never really been in love
I have never had a broken heart
I love being with you all of the time but,
I never think about you when we're apart
Maybe it's something about the way we are wired
We hardly work at all but we're always still tired
I waste so much time lost in a day dream
I think everybody should be a machine
I think everybody should be a machine
The world would be a better place to live
We could walk the streets at night
No need to take no need to give
Raise your hand if you think it's alright
I think everybody should be a machine
I think everybody should be a machine
9. ALL LIVE TOGETHER LOVE ONE ANOTHER
(Steve Vozzolo)
Our work is not done here
We must work hand in hand
Remain strong and united
Be willing to take a stand
Some people think the things I say
Are just platitudes and old clichés
Please please believe me when I say (hey)
We must learn to all live together
We must learn to love one another
We must commit to participate
Consider ourselves a new creation
From time to time we will congregate
Build a brand new world from our imagination
Many things that people say
The dreams we speak of and share today
Shall live for generations never fade away (hey)
We must learn to all live together
We must learn to love one another
We must learn to love… (love, love, love) Love
Some will choose to isolate
But I believe in my heart that this is our time
A good idea just can’t wait
Good poetry does not have to rhyme (no no)
Many things that people say
The dreams we speak of and share today
Shall live for generations never fade away (hey)
We must learn to all live together
We must learn to love one another
We must learn to love… (love, love, love) Love
10. HER FAVORITE COLOR IS BLUE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I want to send her flowers
I know her favorite color is blue
I want to wipe away her tears
I know I can't break through
She's a whisper in the morning
She's thunder in the night
She's a single burning candle
She's fire in the sky
She spins around and around
She lives in her dreams, she can't be found
I want to send her flowers
I know her favorite color is blue
She's right where I can see her
Before my eyes she disappears
She's right there when I need her
She drifts into the atmosphere
She's barefoot in the garden
Draped in velvet, lace and pearls
She's a complicated woman
She's a spoiled little girl
She spins around and around
She lives in her dreams, she can't be found
I want to send her flowers
I know her favorite color is blue
She stands there in the darkness
Colors flash before her eyes
She dances in the silence
To the music in her mind
I still love her, I'll always love her
I want to send her flowers, I know her favorite color is blue
11. CONSTANT TALKING
(Steve Vozzolo)
Constant talking - conversations - unseen beings
Imaginary objects on the wall
Constant talking - hallucinations - waking dreams
Unexplained shadows in the hall
If everybody knew all the thoughts I thought
All the things I have said when I was all alone
If everybody knew if I ever get caught
Spectral voices in my head from places unknown
You may think these are just words and rhymes
Pray they’re not the headlines in the New York Times
I am quite insane please lock me up in a cell
If I don’t stop lying I’m going to end up in hell
If I don’t stop lying I’m going to end up in hell
Constant talking (yeah)
These pills aren’t working (yeah)
Constant talking (yeah)
I can’t stop drinking (yeah)
Constant talking - conversations - unseen beings
Imaginary objects on the wall
Constant talking - hallucinations - waking dreams
Unexplained shadows in the hall
If everybody knew all the thoughts I thought
All the things I have said when I was all alone
If everybody knew if I ever get caught
Spectral voices in my head from places unknown
You may think these are just words and rhymes
Pray that someday they’re not horrifying crimes
Can you keep a secret promise never to tell
If I don’t stop lying I’m going to end up in hell
If I don’t stop lying I’m going to end up in hell
12. CHRISTMAS IS BREAKING MY HEART AGAIN
(Steve Vozzolo)
They’re singing about a silent night
They’re singing about a holy night
They’re singing about a Virgin Mother and Child
Christmas is breaking my heart again
Tonight is Christmas Eve
I am home alone
There’s a candle in the window no call on the phone
Christmas is breaking my heart again
I love my Christmas tree
Red green silver and gold
The fire burns brightly outside it’s frightfully cold
Christmas is breaking my heart again
Christmas is breaking my heart again

13. WALKING THROUGH THE ART SHOW
I saw a painting of a carnival, I saw a sculpture of a cat
A hobo with a violin, a lady in a hat
A soldier on a grand white horse going off to war
A sea bird flying through the sky, a lighthouse on the shore
Black and white photographs, footprints in the snow
Walking through the art show
I saw a painting of a field of gold, I saw a canvas painted black
Jesus walking through the street, the cross upon his back
An old man in a darkened room, a candle in his hand
Paintings of that abstract art I could never understand
Lions, tigers, circus clowns, you really have to go
Walking through the art show
Walking through the art show
On a Sunday afternoon, me and my baby
Walking through the art show
I saw a band of angels in the sky, I saw the devil in the sea
Little green men from outer space looking right at me
Flowers in the garden, the sun rising in the sky
And an eight foot tall red question mark called "An Artist Asking Why"...
Dark, deserted city streets, a neon sign in a window
Walking through the art show
Walking through the art show
On a Sunday afternoon, me and my baby
Walking through the art show
14. SILVER PILLOWS SILVER CLOUDS
(Steve Vozzolo)
Silver pillows, silver clouds
Floating through my open mind
All my fear will disappear
I will find
Peace of mind, peace of mind
He said, she said, he would if she could
Talked and talked, watched the sunrise
The circle will be broken
I will find
Peace of mind, peace of mind
I can be who I want to be today
Let me think, now, who am I?
Tomorrow will be yesterday in two days
Let's not spend our time wondering why, no
Tomorrow will be yesterday in two days
Let's not spend our time wondering why, no
15. PUT YOUR SUNGLASSES ON
(Steve Vozzolo)
Everybody is down by the river
Everybody is feeling fine
No sorrow No sadness
Today there will be no crying
Turn the radio all the way up
Watch the sun sink all the way down
Light the fire
Put your sunglasses on
Everything is going to be all right
I can feel it in my soul
Everything is going to be all right
Put your sunglasses on
I have a friend named Mary Jane
There's a tear in her eye
She's standing all alone in the rain
Mary Jane, oh please don't cry
Turn the radio all the way up
Turn the lights all the way down
Light the candle
Put your sunglasses on
Everything is going to be all right
I can feel it deep in my soul
Everything is going to be all right
Put your sunglasses on
16. LOVE LETTER
(Steve Vozzolo)
From an intellectual point of view
You could say I have given this some thought
A psychological analysis might reveal
I remember less than I forgot
Considered only as a matter of the heart
My heart is broken in two
Considering how it has affected my life
It's really a drag living without you
You are the lover I always imagined
You are my artist my one true friend
You are the song in my head every morning
You are the candle, the candle that's still burning
The candle that will still be burning in the end
Considered only as a matter of the heart
My heart is broken in two
Considering how it has affected my life
I really miss us I really miss you
You are the lover I always dreamed of
You are my artist my one true friend
You are the song in my head every morning
You are the candle, the candle that's still burning
The candle that will still be burning in the end
17. SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION
(Steve Vozzolo)
Don't mix oxygen and nitrogen
Don't mix lust and love
Don't mix holding on and letting go
Don't mix a nighthawk with a morning dove
Spontaneous combustion... Everywhere
Spontaneous combustion... Sparks flying through the air
I can feel it between me and you
I wonder can you feel it too?
Can you feel it too?
Don't mix crucify and idolize
Don't mix a museum with a boutique
Don't mix going blind and closing eyes
Don't mix a genius with a freak
Spontaneous combustion... Everywhere
Spontaneous combustion... Sparks flying through the air
I can feel it between me and you
I wonder can you feel it too?
Can you feel it too?
18. MARILYN LOVES TRAINS
(Steve Vozzolo)
Marilyn loves trains
The way they glide along the track
Marilyn loves trains
They leave on time and they come back
There must be a patron saint of trains who prays and thus The Lord ordains
Marilyn loves trains
She said happy blue year
I did not know what she meant
She said happy blue year
She said love is heaven sent
Yes I miss her I cried a crystal tear I would like to kiss her I would love to see her
She said happy blue year
When Marilyn is on the silver screen I think I prefer her in black and white
When Marilyn is in a magazine I prefer in color it just feels right
When Marilyn is in my dreams she’s a dream machine blue crystalline rains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Blue trains
Marilyn loves trains
The way they glide along the track
Marilyn loves trains
They leave on time and they come back
When Marilyn is in my dreams she’s a dream machine blue crystalline rains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Blue trains
19. NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I woke up this morning, an ordinary day
She called me on the telephone, I listened to what she had to say
She said, "I am so angry at you, so disappointed so upset"
I said, "Is it something I have done or something I have said"?
You're an egomania, you're self absorbed, you're not God
Every day you seem to get even worse
You're ungrateful and rude, you're mean and cruel
You're not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
I said, "Please forgive me, please accept my apology"
"I need you to help me make it through, without you it's only just me"
"I wish I'd known what you were thinking, that I made you feel so bad"
"Maybe I could have changed my ways, become a better man"
You're an egomania, you're self absorbed, your not God
Every day you seem to get even worse
You're ungrateful and rude, you're mean and cruel
You're not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
20. MIRROR MIRROR
(Steve Vozzolo)
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
Some people love to look into you
Some people wish that you were not there
Some people don’t believe what they see is true
Some people don’t think that you’re fair
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhh
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
Everybody hopes that you do not break
Nobody wants seven years of bad luck
Some people see the truth admit they’re plastic and fake
Some people want to watch themselves ___
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhh
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
21. COLOR MACHINE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I have a color machine
I keep it hidden deep in my heart
When I feel lost and alone
I turn on my color machine
Reds, greens, yellows and blues
Any color I want to choose
I have my own dream machine
I keep it hidden deep in my heart
No one can steal it away
My own secret dreaming machine
Hope, joy love that is true
A million things I want to do
There's a light in the skyPassing as it passes by
Giving off its own light
A kaleidoscope in my eyes
I believe you have a color machine
I believe you have your own dream machine
I have a color machine
I have my own dream machine

And an eight foot tall red question mark called "An Artist Asking Why"...
Dark, deserted city streets, a neon sign in a window
Walking through the art show
Walking through the art show
On a Sunday afternoon, me and my baby
Walking through the art show
14. SILVER PILLOWS SILVER CLOUDS
(Steve Vozzolo)
Silver pillows, silver clouds
Floating through my open mind
All my fear will disappear
I will find
Peace of mind, peace of mind
He said, she said, he would if she could
Talked and talked, watched the sunrise
The circle will be broken
I will find
Peace of mind, peace of mind
I can be who I want to be today
Let me think, now, who am I?
Tomorrow will be yesterday in two days
Let's not spend our time wondering why, no
Tomorrow will be yesterday in two days
Let's not spend our time wondering why, no
15. PUT YOUR SUNGLASSES ON
(Steve Vozzolo)
Everybody is down by the river
Everybody is feeling fine
No sorrow No sadness
Today there will be no crying
Turn the radio all the way up
Watch the sun sink all the way down
Light the fire
Put your sunglasses on
Everything is going to be all right
I can feel it in my soul
Everything is going to be all right
Put your sunglasses on
I have a friend named Mary Jane
There's a tear in her eye
She's standing all alone in the rain
Mary Jane, oh please don't cry
Turn the radio all the way up
Turn the lights all the way down
Light the candle
Put your sunglasses on
Everything is going to be all right
I can feel it deep in my soul
Everything is going to be all right
Put your sunglasses on
16. LOVE LETTER
(Steve Vozzolo)
From an intellectual point of view
You could say I have given this some thought
A psychological analysis might reveal
I remember less than I forgot
Considered only as a matter of the heart
My heart is broken in two
Considering how it has affected my life
It's really a drag living without you
You are the lover I always imagined
You are my artist my one true friend
You are the song in my head every morning
You are the candle, the candle that's still burning
The candle that will still be burning in the end
Considered only as a matter of the heart
My heart is broken in two
Considering how it has affected my life
I really miss us I really miss you
You are the lover I always dreamed of
You are my artist my one true friend
You are the song in my head every morning
You are the candle, the candle that's still burning
The candle that will still be burning in the end
17. SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION
(Steve Vozzolo)
Don't mix oxygen and nitrogen
Don't mix lust and love
Don't mix holding on and letting go
Don't mix a nighthawk with a morning dove
Spontaneous combustion... Everywhere
Spontaneous combustion... Sparks flying through the air
I can feel it between me and you
I wonder can you feel it too?
Can you feel it too?
Don't mix crucify and idolize
Don't mix a museum with a boutique
Don't mix going blind and closing eyes
Don't mix a genius with a freak
Spontaneous combustion... Everywhere
Spontaneous combustion... Sparks flying through the air
I can feel it between me and you
I wonder can you feel it too?
Can you feel it too?
18. MARILYN LOVES TRAINS
(Steve Vozzolo)
Marilyn loves trains
The way they glide along the track
Marilyn loves trains
They leave on time and they come back
There must be a patron saint of trains who prays and thus The Lord ordains
Marilyn loves trains
She said happy blue year
I did not know what she meant
She said happy blue year
She said love is heaven sent
Yes I miss her I cried a crystal tear I would like to kiss her I would love to see her
She said happy blue year
When Marilyn is on the silver screen I think I prefer her in black and white
When Marilyn is in a magazine I prefer in color it just feels right
When Marilyn is in my dreams she’s a dream machine blue crystalline rains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Blue trains
Marilyn loves trains
The way they glide along the track
Marilyn loves trains
They leave on time and they come back
When Marilyn is in my dreams she’s a dream machine blue crystalline rains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Marilyn loves blue trains
Blue trains
19. NOT THE CENTER OF THE UNIVERSE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I woke up this morning, an ordinary day
She called me on the telephone, I listened to what she had to say
She said, "I am so angry at you, so disappointed so upset"
I said, "Is it something I have done or something I have said"?
You're an egomania, you're self absorbed, you're not God
Every day you seem to get even worse
You're ungrateful and rude, you're mean and cruel
You're not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
I said, "Please forgive me, please accept my apology"
"I need you to help me make it through, without you it's only just me"
"I wish I'd known what you were thinking, that I made you feel so bad"
"Maybe I could have changed my ways, become a better man"
You're an egomania, you're self absorbed, your not God
Every day you seem to get even worse
You're ungrateful and rude, you're mean and cruel
You're not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
Not the center of the universe
20. MIRROR MIRROR
(Steve Vozzolo)
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
Some people love to look into you
Some people wish that you were not there
Some people don’t believe what they see is true
Some people don’t think that you’re fair
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhh
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
Everybody hopes that you do not break
Nobody wants seven years of bad luck
Some people see the truth admit they’re plastic and fake
Some people want to watch themselves ___
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhh
Mirror Mirror Mirror Mirror
Oo oo oo oo oo Mirror
21. COLOR MACHINE
(Steve Vozzolo)
I have a color machine
I keep it hidden deep in my heart
When I feel lost and alone
I turn on my color machine
Reds, greens, yellows and blues
Any color I want to choose
I have my own dream machine
I keep it hidden deep in my heart
No one can steal it away
My own secret dreaming machine
Hope, joy love that is true
A million things I want to do
There's a light in the sky
Passing as it passes by
Giving off its own light
A kaleidoscope in my eyes
I believe you have a color machine
I believe you have your own dream machine
I have a color machine
I have my own dream machine
